July 2nd: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Short, sweet and a bit of a ramble.

Daisy Johnson. July 2nd.

Real quick. I love them all, I do, but I love Daisy. She is half the reason I watch the show usually. Her development is amazing. She makes me laugh, she makes me cry, and every time I come back to watch it all over again. She’s Daisy Johnson and this is Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and each has remained near the top of my Top 10 for years.

It never gets old. I think I watch AOS at least once a year, and while I love nearly everything nearly all of them do, I do so love Daisy and her story, and all the love, and sadness, and complications that come with it.

SPOILERS (but you knew that)

Daisy is Awesome

Not really something I’ll be taking opinions on. You can pry that from my cold dead hands.

She’s, ya know, in the simplest of terms, really cool.

Look at that development! Look who she becomes! Look what she can do!

I only realised it watching AOS again this year, and while I have not yet reached Season 7, if I am recalling my several watches correctly, in a very full circle moment Daisy kind of becomes Coulson.

Cooler, obviously, because she’s awesome. Not that Coulson isn’t cool, we all know how he can’t help himself with the cool. But, ya know, Daisy does quake things, and hacks SHIELD, look at her go!

In Season 1 we meet Coulson with his little team on his Bus, and then in Season 7 Daisy’s got a bigger bus, sure, but she’s leading, no? And she’s in space, which is awesome.

Just, a little full circle right there.

So, July 2nd.

I may not be as talented as the many editors I follow, love and very much appreciate their work. Some of it is truly stunning. I do, though, know how to use my words… usually.

In all fairness I might be quite literally mid-rewatch of AOS right now. So, hooked in fact, they are likely to be the upcoming FF post, but as always I make no promises. Yet, it did not occur to me that it was July 2nd, despite having watched that scene just two weeks ago (if less).

As such, my usual talent with words doesn’t really have a lot to say, and not nearly enough time to do a deep dive into a character I’ve not quite finished rewatching yet… even if I do know most of her story like the back of my hand.

So, I can say I love her as the character she is. With all my heart. I’m so glad Chloe Bennet brought her to our screens the way she did. Occasionally I wish we’d see more of her, and then I remember what The MCU has been up to lately and think ‘perhaps, it’s best we don’t’. I no longer trust them. However, the seven seasons we got are glorious and I love every moment of them.

So, this is quick sweet and simple. Happy Birthday, Daisy Johnson.

Fictional though you may be, many of us are very grateful you exist on our screens or in our heads. Fiction is relative.

Thanks!

All the usual Thank You’s. This isn’t really supposed to be any big post or anything it’s just… Daisy Johnson.

As always you can find me on the socials below, perhaps hit me up with a DM if you are also an AOS fan and want to chat about it. I am going to get back to watching AOS so I can write about it for this upcoming FF post.

Thank you for the very brief read. See you next time, whenever that may be.
