Look, it’s a blog post weekend, and I did some travelling this weekend and so to be perfectly honest… I forgot. No. Really.
So, anyways, let’s be brief and recap the past two weeks, shall we? My atrocious memory aside, I do enjoy writing these things and one of these days I will be on top of it.
So!
SPOILERS
(but you knew that)

Where Am I?
Low-key, there’s not a lot to report.
I did pick up Critical Role again! Watched all of one episode before circumstances had me putting off C2 Episode 4 every night until it was this weekend and I still hadn’t watched it. Nevertheless, I look forward to it. I’ve watched these episodes of Critical Role before and while they are simply the start of what I am assured will be a grand campaign, I do recall enjoying them enough.
Besides, it’s Critical Role. They’re hilarious.
I have learnt this weekend that the fastest way to put a smile on your face, distract yourself from all the ugly emotions building in your gut, and all in all find a way to be okay again, is to genuinely laugh.
This might be one of the reasons watching Critical Role again has cheered me up in the past. They can be such a commitment, but if you find the time, engaging with the content can be genuinely, wholly, up-lifting.
I played Overcooked with my brothers this weekend, and between slinging curses like stones and insidious yells I couldn’t even begin to describe we were also quite literally laughing our asses off. As a result, I feel happy.
As an aside though, be careful, Overcooked could ruin friendships.
In the same way slipping off ice carrying an entire order can bring aching laughter to your gut, Critical Role can be so tear-jerkingly hilarious, lose-your-breath laughing. I know I could achieve I near similar effect of joy with an episode of Campaign 2 or any Campaign for that matter.
Laughter is legitimately the best medicine.
So… Where Am I? Campaign 2 Episode 3. I watched it, I panicked, I laughed. I let Episode 4 wait and wait for me, and I am due to watch it soon. Assuming I find the time. I am trying to find the time. I will find the time.
I love Vox Machina, but I started Critical Role with The Mighty Nein. So, they have a special place in my heart, and despite not actually having finished their story yet, they are still my favourite.
I miss my Dirt Wizard every week.
Okay, a little personal, a little deep and the prelude to a grand thank you I’m sure is building itself up inside me. Let’s move on.
The weekly, High Potential.
I saw the two new episodes. I’m a little confused, I want to know more. I’m still enjoying it a lot. Go watch it. The more who do, the more we get!
Did the guy who supposedly met Roman actually give us anything? Or did he just cop a lift to church? Because I have never been so confused.
Irregardless. Only a few episodes of the season to go, and then I’m sure we get to watch the US get every episode of Season 2 before us and wait months again.
I look forward to my suffering.
Speaking of suffering, 9-1-1.
Mentioning it at all this post seems… foolish?
I have not the chance to watch the new episodes yet, because as previously stated I live in the consistently miserable country known as the UK, where we get a good percentage of American TV Shows two weeks later – if we’re lucky, usually far more, if at all.
So, 9-1-1 is due here this Friday, and I’m excited, because I have absolutely zero self control and as such have watched every single edit that has crossed my feed. Arguably, actively, searching them out. I’m at a point where I know nearly everything that’s going to happen already, if even a little out of context. I have seen nearly every clip of Maddie – at minimum, and more so. I have cried for episodes I have not had the pleasure of viewing yet, and I cannot wait to do so.
Far as I have seen, Those Promos did not do it justice.
Before you say it, yes, I know I could. I’m this close. However, I have trust issues. Okay? I’ve heard it enough times. Besides, they track viewership if I wait till it drops here, and they need those views. Not that I’m entirely sure the audience outside of the US actually matters in terms of renewal.
So, anyways, we’ll discuss fully when I’ve seen the devastation with context.
Three cheers to all the editors though, who are so exceedingly quick with some truly phenomenal edits. Over the weekend I’ve probably seen 15-30 edits, and loved all of them. Y’all are very talented.

To Conclude
Okay! Forgotten but not nonexistent. This post exists! Which is still an achievement. Lucky you guys.
The next post will be my 50th post, which feels… significant. I feel it should be more than your simple catch-up, which have become an all too regular piece on the blog.
I have two weeks to think of something – or at least, two weeks to post anything before the next Fortnightly Fixations post is due – I’ll do something.
Thank you for your patience if any regular readers exist, and thank you for reading this far if you did!
In the meantime feel free to leave a comment or send me a DM on socials.
